Simlock and SEMC?

Hey guys.

Please correct me if I am wrong. But I imagine it all to goes a little like this.

Simlock.. Seems pretty obvious. Locked to a particular network like mine is i.e "three (3)".

SEMC.. The type of protection? << Not really sure with this.

Anyway, With my old ZTE Racer which was sim locked on 3 I was able to just download a debranded firmware, grant super user > recovery > wipe data etc > install new firmware. However, when I do this with my e10i. I still have a simlock. Am i missing something here. Currently I am using Kernel 2.6.29.6-nAa-14 and SEMC_Debrand_Engine_V3.0_Final.

Am i missing something here?

Thanks,

Andy
