Google - what Google Services Framework does?

Android Q&A - xda-developers - forum.xda-developers.com
Hello!

i was looking my BetterBatteryStats log for wakeups and i saw that:

Quote:

com.google.android.gsf

20833ms running, 113 wakeups

31 alarms: flg=0x4

27 alarms: act=com.google.android.intent.action.GTALK_RECONNE CT flg=0x4

55 alarms: act=com.google.android.intent.action.GTALK_HEARTBE AT flg=0x4

after some googling i saw that this is the Google Services Framework.

i googled once more about this but i can't get it.

What is Google Services Framework doing exactly?

I read that it has to do with android updates, but my phone isn't supported anymore, so i don't care about it.

is it safe to disable it?
