Alcatel Go Flip flip phone Requires a Sprint data plan
A friend of mine went into the Sprint dealer just recently and asked for "the cheapest phone that you have like this": and he pulled his Samsung flip phone out of his pocket to show the salesperson. He waited until 10 minutes before closing to go phone shopping, you know, this should be quick and easy.; in and out.
The Alcatel Go Flip is the cheapest "flip phone" that Sprint has.
What my friend meant to say was: I want the cheapest phone you have that does not require a data plan. Because the salesperson could not make the Go Flip activate on my friend's account; he has 4 phones on it now and he was adding the fifth. His plan never had data.
After 20-30 minutes of trying, the salesperson goes into the back office, comes out in 5 minutes and declares success it's activated, just sign here all is good.
When he got home he discovered that he had a data plan, which he did not want.
It appears that there are only 3 Sprint phones that do not require a data plan: the Sonim and 2 Kyocera phones.
If you have a talk only plan on Sprint, and you want to keep it that way, those phones are your 3 choices.
