Galaxy S3 unable to register to network while overseas travel

TELUS Mobility - www.howardforums.com
I'm using the Galaxy S3 and was working fine before leaving for my Japan Korea trip. I went thru the options in Settings > More Settings > Mobile Networks and tried different changes like GSM mode, Automode, Network Operators but I'm getting Unable to Register.

It can see the carrier signals like Japanese networks NTT Docomo, Softbank and Korean networks KTel and SKTelecom but when I select any one of them, it will try to process on registering but will then say Unable to Register. I am not able to send or receive calls and text msgs ever since I left Vancouver. I've gone thru Japan trip with no cellphone service and would have thought being in Korea would have resolved my issue but I'm still experiencing the same problem.

I've tried rebooting, reseating the sim card, configuring the Mobile Network Settings but to no avail.
