5S generic battery replacement

So it's been a little over 18 months that I've been having issues with my 5s battery and I hold no more hopes that IOS updates are going to substantially improve my battery life health.
Since I am going to buy an iPhone 6S/7 in the autumn, I am considering to buy a generic battery replacement. For instance, ifixit offers a battery for $25,- Has anybody bought a generic replacement and if so, what are your experiences with those? I once bought a generic macbook replacement and although it did seem great at first, battery life rapidly deteriorated. Related messages Does the Apple Store replace the battery on an iPhone on site or do they send it out for be repaired. This 5s is out of warranty. I know it's like $80.
My battery only like left half capacity, want to replace it, any idea if QCD does it and how much does it cost?
Fiancée has a 5s and battery drains extremely fast, everything was fine then one day boom. Any app I can download to see results or # of charge cycles before replacing? Saw apple charges $80 out of warranty, prob worth it to go to Apple for replacement?

My power button is no longer responsive after replacing my battery in my 13month old 5S. Everything except the power button is working great. Did I miss a step somewhere? Did I have to reset something? I can't find anything on Google with this problem on a 5S.
I replaced my older 5S (purchased Sept 2013) due to a battery problem. On the replacement phone, the retina quality is so much better; the UI text is sharper. Is this common with initial production batches? Might think twice about being an early adopter now.
Has anyone seen/found a workaround for it? It shows me that error and resets when I try to use a generic replacement battery. With its original battery works fine (I just wanted to have an extra battery).
