Internet pauses over wifi
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem before.
When I’m connected to WiFi, the connection will often “pause”. So say I’m searching for stuff on Google and browse a few pages which will load fine, then randomly I’ll click on another link, the load bar in Safari will load until it’s below the WiFi icon, it’ll stay there for around 30sec to 1 minute before it carries on loading the rest of the page. Same goes for YouTube, I’ll be midway watching a video, and then the video will stop because it needs to stream the rest of the video but since the connection is “paused”, I just sit there waiting it for it to load. Sometimes it’ll take so long YouTube will throw the “Video failed to load. Tap to retry” error. This also affects all my other apps that require internet (Instagram, douchebook, etc)
It’s rather frustrating and I know it isn’t a problem with my router at home since my PC is constantly connected and shows no sign of this weird pausing problem. It also does this at my work place which I know is very stable since we use Cisco enterprise wifi devices.
I’ve already tried resetting my network settings and that hasn’t worked. I’m starting to think whether it’s a problem caused by iOS? I’ve used this phone since I’ve bought it two years ago and haven’t done a full restore since then (only OTA updates or update via iTunes).
