Orange SIM Update ... check SMS service centre number if on old "Out Here" plan
Just received a SIM update text from Orange.
As always, after a SIM update, if you are on the old Orange "Out Here" PAYG plan which gives you 5 free texts a day, check your SMS service centre number, it will probably have changed.
Orange SMS centre number must be
+44 797 310 0979 for 5 free texts.
Occasionally when there is a SIM update the message centre reverts to
+44 797 310 0973
which if used by 'Out here' customers does not give the 5 free texts a day.
973 will charge you for texts.
Just change the last digit from 3 to 9.
BTW: Don't change your Orange plan, you will lose your 5 free texts a day.
Orange CS will try to get you to change your plan occasionally, refuse to do it to keep your free texts.
Don't be tempted by website offers either if you want to keep your free texts.
My OH plan runs until 2026 (the year, not the time !)
The old Orange "Out Here" PAYG plan is NOT available anymore, nor has been for several years.
