Philips AS111/37 Fidelio Docking Speaker Output Voltage 5.9V. Is it safe ?

Hi All,

I got the Philips AS111/37 Fidelio Docking Speaker and just noticed that its Output voltage is 5.9V (2.4A).

I know that the major smartphones (including the S3) charging voltage suppose to be 5V.

Philips claim that their dock supports all android smartphones and tablets.

Would 5.9V for 5V devices be ok ?

btw,

The manual claims that the charging amperage is <1A, but nothing about the charging voltage (except from the output info).

Thanks
